Flat feet, sore heels, ingrown toe nails, tendonitis, shin splints & bunions?
These are the things that we love to fix!
The foot combines mechanical complexity and structural strength. The ankle serves as foundation, shock absorber, and propulsion engine. The foot can sustain enormous pressure (several tons over the course of a one-mile run) and provides flexibility and resiliency.
Your foot is a much under estimated architectural marvel.... there are 26 bones (one quarter of the bones in the human body are in the feet), 33 joints, more than 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments and a large network of blood vessels and nerves.
Because the average person takes between 7000 and 10000 steps every day, early signs or symptoms of foot or leg discomfort should not be ignored. Due to work, family and fitness commitments it is really hard to rest a sore foot so before you know it that little niggle has turned into a full blown disaster. Many of our clients can be fixed and on their way after a 30-45 minute consultation but instead put up with painful conditions for months hoping it will go away....we encourage you to come in for treatment at the early warning signs (a stitch in time.....)
All Central City Podiatrists are trained to prevent, diagnose and manage the following......
Children
Children can have just as many foot problems as adults, although not always the same ones. Some problems may be evident at birth and others don't become obvious for some years. If you feel that your infant, toddler or teen ager has something that doesn't look quite right then get it checked. It may save them a lot more trouble as an adult if treated sooner. Common problems include intoed/out-toed, flat feet, growing pains or aching legs, ingrown nails, warts, sore heels, painful ankles and knees. 60% of growing pains can be fixed with podiatric intervention including orthotics and exersices.
Adults
Some problems take months or even years to develop to the point where a person seeks our advise, other problems arise almost overnight. As we get older the stresses on our feet change, what we ask of them changes and even our feet themselves don't stay the same. We can often predict and therefore prevent a problem before it manifests itself if you have a yearly check-up. We are all familiar with the following common problems, and many others ingrown toe nails, arch pain, heel, ankle and leg pains, postural issues, skin and nail conditions, metatarsalgia, neuritis, corns, callouses, bunions, heel spurs, shin splints and warts.
